What personal data we collect, and why we collect it

Contact form

If you choose to contact us via the contact form provided on our website, we collect the data you have entered in the comments form, and use this to respond to your message.

We also collect your IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection, but this data is not used for any other purpose.

Contact form responses are stored for as long as they remain relevant ie. until the matter is dealt with, or until deleted or archived as part of our normal e-mail deletion and archival practices.

Website survey

If you choose to participate in any survey carried out on our website, we collect the data you have entered in the questionnaire.  You are under no obligation to take part in the survey, or to submit any particular information as part of it, as this is entirely optional.

No personally identifiable information is collected as part of this, unless you elect to submit such information voluntarily (for example, by including your name and contact details as part of your response).

Survey responses are stored in our survey system for one month.

Scanjet Tank Cleaning Simulator software

If you choose to download and install our free tank cleaning simulator, you are required to register your copy by submitting to us your name, e-mail address and organisation name.  We use these details to inform you about new software versions or new features available, so that you may elect to download the latest version.  We may also contact you occasionally for your feedback on the software or to communicate to you relevant information.  We store your details in a secure database until you tell us to remove them from our records.  We never release your details thus gathered to any third party.

Cookies

When you visit our website, the site may place one or more cookies on your system, unless you have chosen to block cookies.  The cookies we use are required for the normal functioning of the website, as well as to provide you with a more convenient user experience.

We also use Google Analytics to better understand visitor traffic to our website, and for this purpose Google may place one or more cookies on your system.

No personally identifiable information is collected as part of this.

We do not track your web usage outside our website.

Two cookies are permanent, two are valid for two years, and the rest are session cookies which expire automatically when you leave our website.

Regarding third party websites

Some content on our website may point to other websites, and these websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.  We are not responsible for the operation or policies of third party websites that we link to.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. (This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.)  Currently this website does not allow comments other than through the contact form, and currently no site account functionality exists.

Who we share your data with

We do not share your data with third parties, other than as may be required strictly for the operation of our website and other online services, or unless requested by you (for example, if you want us to pass on your enquiry to our representative in your market).  We will never sell your data or otherwise release it for commercial gain or exploitation.  We also do not purchase data related to our website visitors from third parties.

Where we send your data

We host our website and other online services in Sweden.  The data we collect, including cookie data, is only sent to countries considered ‘adequate’ under current data protection rules, mainly Sweden and the UK.
