The system actively conducts continuous strength and stability calculations online, alerting the crew with alarms for inadequate stability or stress exceeding class limits, as outlined in IMO resolution A.167 (ES.IV). It simultaneously manages three offline conditions in memory, providing warnings if stability or stress thresholds are breached.
Furthermore, the system archives conditions used for software approval as read-only, ensuring they are always available for reference. This feature is part of the integrated Surveyor program, which enhances the system’s utility.
For data storage, the system separates configuration data into a text file, while all software and data are securely stored on a FLASH card, eliminating the need for rotating bulk storage devices. The software and configuration data are safeguarded with write protection, and the software itself is developed using an object-oriented approach, based on C++. This architecture ensures robustness and reliability for maritime operations.
