SCANVENT DVC 250/80

The SCANVENT DVC 250/80 is a compact detonation venting cover (detonation flame arrester) designed for tankers operating in inland waterways and coastal environments.

Its low-profile, flat design makes it particularly well suited for installations where vertical space is limited, such as on inland barges.
Built for safe and compliant operations, the DVC 250/80 serves both as a protective venting solution and a convenient sampling point, supporting secure and efficient tank handling in hazardous areas.  
Packaged in a straightforward design that caters to low maintenance needs, this valve incorporates a distinctive combination of magnet power and air brakes, which is both unique and patented. It stands out as a genuinely non-oscillating solution, aligning with the two-second, no-metal-to-metal contact definition outlined in ISO 15364:2021.
 
When maintenance is necessary, the entire inside trim can be lifted out in one lot, re-placed, and the crew can easily remove seats and discs for repair or replacement.
 
 

Working principle

The SCANVENT DVC 250/80 is installed directly on the tank and connected to the vapor line. The DVC 250/80 functions by decoupling individual tanks from one another, thereby preventing the propagation of detonations through the vapor system. In addition to venting, the unit can be opened to provide controlled access to tank vapors without compromising safety.
